Do I spend out on training?

Staff training costs are high but I feel as though I need to keep them skilled and motivated despite hard times. Am I doing the right thing?

I might add that these are staff I value highly. I believe they deserve something but it's making ends meet.

Yes, you have to nurture your staff and keep them motivated and up to speed. They are selling your products and services so if they are not trained it could cost you more in the long run.
