haha,
who does? I think they are pants.
Can't stand the things, they are obtrusive and dangerous.
I have a theory...
Email chains are perpetuated by people who are stuck in the internet of the 90's when email was the only form of distribution and collaboration. These people never made the jump to MySpace, Facebook, Digg or Twitter. They're probably still using Netscape as a browser. This would, of course, also explain why they're still sending around emails that first started back in the 90's.
It seems no -one does so it's surprising that one receives so many. IN fact maybe Rohan is right about the technology use - perhaps they dont use the internet and so they can't arrive here to contribute to the debate. Surely one of you has a friend who can tell us why they send them and put the alternative argument forward? Perhaps Naked Leader is taking the lead here in this one and secretly no -one likes them but has been too worried to tell their friend that send them and think that they may be thought antisocial in some way if they don't send them on.
Another annoying thing is not the friendship ones but the frightening urban myth ones about lead in lipstick , or entering some strange pin no on your cash card if you are bing forced to by a mugger - both not true or 101 other things - that if I ever receive one that may look remotely true I check it out on the web before panicking into sending it on to even one of my closest friends.
I may say though that this isnt the same as sending joke or something I know will be of interest to a particular friend.
I love receiving these emails. It's a great way of keeping in touch with people - what is your problem ???
