I would like some advice on key points for my management team to start them to think about their people differently

and themselves. Do you have some advise on putting some energy back into a management team? to help them

to succeed more for themselves and the business.

Give them a project each and make them accountable for the success or failure of the project.

Get them to share ideas with each other about how the company can get the best out of them.

Devise an incentive scheme for them so they know they can achieve something tangible if they make a success of their task.

Take responsibilty for them if it doesn't go as well as you'd hoped. You are the boss after all.

Tell them they will all have a treat if they improve the profitability of the business. Ask them to discuss with you what it is they want from the company and listen closely to their answers. Tell them they will be able to reap some sort of benefit providing they can come up with the answers to why the business might be struggling and morale down.

Or, just invite them to take their clothes off.

Ask them a simple question. What is it that will motivate them?

Ask it to each individual and make a note of the answers. Allow that person to express themselves and explain what it is that makes them tick. How can they enjoy work more? Let them have that little incentive they need within themselves and then challenge them to achieve it.

It isn't enough these days to expect staff to be happy just because they have a job. By the same token. Staff have to play their part in ensuring thebusiness remains viable.

Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, start by finding out what people's strengths are, what they feel they do really well, and through this conversation two other things will come to the fore - their passion and their personalities. Your management team must go with this 100% and be role models. Thanks again David
