See my book recommendation above - Max Woosnam

It's a wonderful book I picked up today in a bookshop. He was a footballer, captain of manchester City. He was England football captain. Five times Cambrideg Blue. Wimbledon Doubles champion. Davis Cup champion. Lord's centurion, scrath golfer, table tennis demon, maximum break holder at snooker and a survivor of the trenches.

His name was Max Woosnam and he was around in the 1930s. Today he would knock david Beckham's endorsements into a cocked hat. And yet he is consigned to history.

I have already googled the book and am going to order it on Amazon. Love stories like this. Would rather read a heartwarming story about someone who excelled in the 30s rather than an inane autobiography of today's stars.

Looks a decent read. I'd like to think there are excellent books out there and, as a writer, I would like to think there are lots of good authors coming through to titilate the senses rather than just the celebrity offerings that frankly, aren't very interesting.

Glad to see books being recommended.
