Should I buy Dollars forward or not?

I am attempting to purchase a house in the States, in Florida, and am not sure whether to complete a forward contract is buying some dollars now rather than wait. Any financial experts like to pass on their advice?
I would wager that the dollar will be strong against the pound for the next couple of months so, without being an expert, it might be best to hold fire. Have you tried going to your bank? They might be the people to ask.
I wouldn't at the moment. I know nothing about currency exchange though.
