I believe if you want something in life you have to go out and make it happen, not wait for something to just turn up. So yes, people who take risks have a better chance of success.
I agree in principle Mary but just going out and trying to make it happen doesn't mean you are taking risks. You can still play it safe within the parameters of what you are trying to achieve. Simply recreating an existing product or service isn't risk taking. Only true innovators aiming become the first in a chosen or new category are truly risk taking and they are not guaranteed success. How is success measured as well? This surely depends solely on perspective. So in short, risk is innovation and success is subjective but if you don't try you'll never know.
I'm always intrigued by people who feel differently enough to disagree with the majority and then don't give us thebenefit of their reasoning which could be very enlightening. SO if youare voting Disagree I would really love to know why!
We need to be risk aware as opposed to risk averse and we need to teach this to our children!
Spot on Robin!
