Action For The Week

RIGHT now, wherever you are, look around you in life. This moment you are now in, will never be repeated again in your life. Take it all in – the people, the weather, the nature all around you.

Next time you listen to your favourite piece of music, really listen. Don’t let your mind think about what it needs to do next, just decide to be now. Listen to the music, to the instruments, and how they come together. As other thoughts enter your head, acknowledge them, and let them go again.

  • Great advice. I often think of that when I’m with my kids. Every day they get a day older and I know I am never going to capture that time again with them. That’s why you have to live for the moment and appreciate what you’ve got. I try to do that. It’s what I aim to do every day from the moment they wake up to when they go to bed. Seeing them grow up is my focus. And they keep me thinking about the now.

  • To really appreciate life, this is what you have to do.
See it for whatever it is.
I often think my life may never be the same tomorrow so you have to drink it all in and make the most of what you have. Coveting others lives is futile. Concentrate on your own, that’s what I do.

  • Getting the time to take everything in is what is the difficult bit.
I do reflect on things in the garden quite a lot.
I often marvel at the wildlife and try to stand still for a while.
Life moves on too quickly, though.

  • I try to think of the here and now. Normally i spend time thinking about the what if, or where do I need to be later? So I am not actually living for the moment which is what we all need to do I guess before our lives slip away from us and we end up with a pile of regrets.
So I am going to make a conscious effort today to really think about who I am, what I am and drink in the moment of why I am actually here. That way I can pack as much in as possible and not have any regrets.
