Networking – Now Is The Time

SOME call it schmoozing. Others casual chat. Whatever your take on it, it is clear that networking is key to a successful business.

Firms that don’t take time to introduce themselves to like-minded individuals when they get the chance could be missing out on opportunities worth thousands of pounds. There is value in it and it is worth the time – and yes it can raise revenue. There is no need to shout about your products and services from the rooftops. Speaking to experts in their field on a one-to-one basis can be an enormous boon for your operation.

Why not get involved? The Government has recently introduced the website mentorsme.co.uk which allows small to medium business owners to gain access to around 10,000 mentors, who are willing and able to provide business support and advice.

Go for it!

  • Good advice. Networking is how I got started in business.
It really does pay to know the right people.
it can lead to a different kind of business altogether.

  • Networking is essential and one of the reasons I set up on my own was because I found the confidence of talking to others.
It’s a special thing to be able to talk to people about what they did to make things work and how you can too.

  • Without networking there is very little chance you will get the business off the ground in the first place.
I found it very interesting that Helen on The Apprentice didn’t really have what it took to be The One. Good at being told what to do. But not great at the creative side. She thought she could just do a business plan without having any contacts in the first place to make that business get off the ground.
    She had no chance.
